‘Bangladesh-Pakistan Business Forum’ launched

Commerce adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin called on business leaders from Bangladesh and Pakistan to actively engage in advancing trade and investment goals between the two nations.

Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the Bangladesh-Pakistan Business Forum at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dhaka, he emphasized the forum’s potential to strengthen bilateral trade and deepen economic cooperation. “This platform will serve as a vital link between business institutions and trade organizations from both countries—fostering collaboration, promoting trade, and identifying investment opportunities,” he said.

The adviser also underscored the need for improved connectivity between the people of Bangladesh and Pakistan, and called for constructive dialogue on tariff and non-tariff barriers to streamline trade between the two economies. As part of the initiative to enhance trade ties, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and the Pakistan Ready-Made Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA).

Md. Anwar Hossain, Administrator and Vice Chairman of the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), and Amir Reyaz Chottani, Vice Chairman of PRGMEA, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
