BGMEA forum panel unveiled strategies to overcome deadlocks

The Forum panel, vying for the BGMEA polls, unveiled its manifesto focusing on revitalizing the struggling garment sector in Bangladesh. Led by Faisal Samad, the panel promises to implement a recovery plan, enhance compliance standards, and facilitate business operations if elected. Key initiatives include developing small and medium enterprises, ensuring buyer accountability, advocating for a dedicated garment ministry, exploring new markets, and safeguarding labor rights and the environment.

They pledge to address challenges post-LDC era, advocate for policy reforms for sick industries, and improve the sector’s image. The panel aims for GSP Plus status and proposes measures like digital ID cards, automation, and innovation centers. They oppose subsidy reductions, advocate for transparency, and promise technological advancement and market diversification. The Forum stresses the need for a transparent election process and accuses the current voter list of irregularities, proposing reforms for BGMEA University and enterprise resource planning implementation.
