Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry was represented at the Barcelona Textile Expo 2026, held in Barcelona, Spain, from 21 to 23 October 2026. Md. Abdul Hannan, Director of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), attended the inaugural ceremony alongside government officials, industry representatives and Bangladeshi exhibitors.
Held at Fira de Barcelona Montjuïc, the three-day international trade fair brought together manufacturers and exhibitors from 12 countries, offering a platform to showcase textile and apparel products, connect with global buyers and develop international business relationships.
With financial support from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and coordination by the Bangladesh Embassy in Madrid, 14 Bangladeshi companies participated under EPB supervision, while four additional companies joined independently.
Bangladesh’s participation highlighted the country’s manufacturing capabilities, product quality and competitiveness in international markets. The exhibition provided an opportunity to engage with European buyers, fashion brands and importers, explore new business partnerships and pursue potential export orders.
Participation in international trade fairs such as Barcelona Textile Expo can help Bangladesh diversify its export markets, expand its customer base and strengthen its position in the global textile and apparel supply chain.
