Chittagong customs’ July revenue logs 42.56% y-o-y growth

The Chittagong Custom House has logged a healthy year-on-year revenue growth of 42.56% in July, the first month of current fiscal year, 2022-2023, compared to the same period of last fiscal year.

According to media reports, the custom house maintained the growth in revenue despite the global crisis caused by the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and surging inflation in the West.

Salahuddin Rizvi, Commissioner of the Chittagong Custom House told media that it was obviously great news for the country’s economy.

In July, Chittagong Custom House collected around Taka 4,839 crore than the Taka 4,482 crore target set for the month, registering 8% increase even if in the corresponding month of the previous fiscal (FY ’22), the Chittagong Custom House collected around Taka 3,395 crore in revenues.
