Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) has called on the government to streamline the tax system to improve taxpayer understanding, ease compliance, and reduce time and costs. At a workshop, DCCI President Ashraf Ahmed emphasized aligning corporate tax calculations with accounting standards and rewarding compliant businesses.
He highlighted the benefits of automation and transparency in the tax system. The National Board of Revenue (NBR) aims to collect Tk 480,000 crore this fiscal year. Officials discussed the importance of reducing import duties to boost industrialization and ensuring a sustainable revenue system. About 90 DCCI member representatives attended the workshop.
