Hatem was elected as BKMEA president for 2025–27 term

Mohammad Hatem has been elected President of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) for the 2025–2027 term. The election was held on Thursday at the BKMEA head office in Narayanganj.
Fazle Shamim Ehsan was elected as the Executive Vice President, alongside a full panel of nine office bearers elected unopposed following the conclusion of the nomination process.
According to the BKMEA Election Board’s pre-announced schedule, candidates collected and submitted their nomination papers in due time. After verification and scrutiny, the board published the final list of contenders—each of whom was elected without contest.
The five elected Vice Presidents are:
- Md. Samsuzzaman
- Gowher Siraj Jamil (Chattogram)
- Ashiqur Rahman
- Fakir Kamruzzaman Nahid
- Mohammad Rashed
The newly formed board will steer BKMEA during a critical phase as the knitwear industry navigates global market challenges, seeks sustainable growth, and strengthens Bangladesh’s position as a leading apparel exporter.
BKMEA plays a pivotal role in representing and advocating for the country’s thriving knitwear sector, a key contributor to national exports and employment.
