Japan is to support Bangladesh’s new regime

Japan has expressed satisfaction with Bangladesh’s recent political stability and has assured continued support for the country’s development, according to Finance and Commerce Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed. After meeting with Japanese Ambassador Iwama Kiminori, Ahmed highlighted Japan’s willingness to enhance cooperation, particularly in future projects like metro rail.
The discussions also covered trade, investment, employment, and potential reforms in Bangladesh’s banking and customs sectors. Japan has committed to supporting Bangladesh in various areas, including health, education, and preparation for the country’s graduation from least developed country (LDC) status.
