Singapore showed strong interests to invest in Bangladesh
A high-level delegation from Singapore expressed strong interest in investing in Bangladesh during a meeting with the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA). Led by Dr. Azizul Islam, an executive member of BIDA, the meeting on May 9th focused on exploring investment opportunities in Bangladesh’s tourism, jute, and related sectors. Dr. Islam highlighted Bangladesh’s favorable investment climate, emphasizing its safety and potential across various sectors, particularly tourism and jute cultivation. Derek Loh, the non-resident high commissioner of Singapore, acknowledged the close ties between Singapore and Bangladesh and expressed interest in investing in Bangladesh’s tourism, jute, agriculture, and vegetable sectors.
The meeting also featured representatives from both countries discussing potential collaborations and investments, with presentations on Bangladesh’s tourism industry and investment opportunities in the jute sector.
