Worker’s safety should be taken care of in Bangladesh

389 workers were killed in accidents in 287 workplace in the country in the first half of this year. This number is higher than the same period of the previous year. In 2022, 333 people were killed in 241 accidents. The survey was conducted by the non-governmental organization Safety and Rights Society (SRS) based on newspaper reports. Through a press release, SRS gave details on this matter yesterday, 2nd of July.

Analyzing the data from January 1 to June 30, it was found that the highest number of workers were killed in the transport sector, in total were 128. 86 people were killed in the construction sector. After this, 85 people were killed in service establishments like workshops, gas, electricity supply, 50 people in factories and other productive establishments and 62 workers were killed in the agricultural sector.
