Saurer unveils future-ready textile machinery at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025

Global textile technology leader Saurer is preparing to showcase its latest generation of spinning, twisting, and automation solutions at the ITMA Asia + CITME 2025 in Singapore. Visitors to booth C301 in Hall 3 will experience how Saurer is shaping “the yarns of tomorrow” with innovations designed to boost efficiency, sustainability, and digitalisation across the textile value chain.

From spinning preparation to twisting solutions, Saurer’s innovations highlight its long-standing commitment to delivering resource-efficient, flexible, and high-quality production systems for modern textile manufacturers worldwide.

Spinning Preparation: Raising the Benchmark for Yarn Quality
At the heart of Saurer’s exhibit is the Autocard SC8, a next-generation high-performance card engineered to deliver superior sliver quality, higher throughput, and optimised energy efficiency. With its 4.8 m² carding area—made possible by a 1.38 m carding width and 1.46 m cylinder diameter—the Autocard SC8 ensures maximum fibre opening and precise cleaning. Optimised licker-in and doffer positioning extend the carding section for consistent output and higher productivity.

Complementing this is the Autocoil 3 with the PDS Pre-Draft System and rectangular cans. This innovation enables ultra-short spinning processes, allowing mills to feed pre-drafted slivers directly into rotor spinning machines. Compared to traditional round cans, rectangular cans increase storage capacity, reduce can changes, and streamline operations, making a significant contribution to efficiency and cost savings.

To further boost intralogistics, Saurer introduces the Hunter S1 can-transport AGV. Its lift-and-transport design eliminates wheel jams and ensures smooth can transfer across departments like carding, drawing, roving, and rotor spinning. The Hunter AGV integrates seamlessly with the Saurer Senses Mill Management System, demonstrating how automation and digitalisation converge to create smarter spinning mills.

Ring Spinning and Rotor Spinning: Expanding Flexibility and Speed
The Zinser 51 ring spinning machine with up to 2056 spindles represents a breakthrough in both compact spinning and automation. Equipped with the new Zpact FX compact system, it guarantees perfect fibre control at the highest spindle speeds while achieving remarkable energy savings—offering both precision and productivity for today’s competitive markets.

Saurer is also presenting the Autocoro 11 rotor spinning station with its Duo Sliver Feeding concept, a unique solution that allows blending of two different slivers directly on the spinning machine with 1% incremental adjustments. This opens up new opportunities for melange and blended yarn production, enabling mills to produce economical small-batch coloured mélange yarns with maximum reproducibility and reduced pre-spinning costs.

The Autoairo air spinning station will also be on display, demonstrating flexibility with different fibre compositions, while the BD 8 rotor spinning machine—the longest semi-automated rotor spinning system with up to 1200 positions—will showcase its energy-saving Twinsuction system and automatic doffer.

Together, these solutions highlight Saurer’s philosophy of offering countless spinning possibilities, ensuring textile mills remain agile, cost-efficient, and future-ready.

Twisting Solutions: Meeting the Demands of Recycled and Technical Yarns
The CompactTwister will take centre stage in Saurer’s twisting portfolio. Traditionally used for fine yarns, today twisting plays a crucial role in enhancing the strength and quality of recycled yarns—a growing demand in global textile markets.

CompactTwister offers a two-for-one twisting solution that combines yarn quality, energy efficiency, space optimisation, and ease of maintenance. It supports a wide range of applications including tire cord, carpet, staple fibre, glass filament, and industrial yarns.

With sustainability in focus, Saurer’s twisting and spinning solutions ensure that even short recycled fibres can be processed efficiently, making them a perfect match for mills seeking to reduce waste while producing high-performance yarns.

Driving the Future of Textiles
“Leading technology for the yarns of tomorrow – this is what drives us at Saurer,” said Hailin Xu, CEO of Saurer. “At ITMA Asia 2025 in Singapore, we are proud to demonstrate how our innovative solutions empower spinning and twisting mills to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving global market.”

Fashion, interior design, and technical textiles all begin with yarn—its structure, elasticity, hairiness, and sometimes even colour are influenced during the spinning and twisting processes. Saurer’s integrated solutions—from fibre preparation to yarn finishing—are developed to help manufacturers save resources, increase flexibility, and deliver consistent quality.
