TMAS to highlight smart and sustainable textile machinery at ITMA Asia + CITME

Swedish textile machinery manufacturers association (TMAS) is set to showcase a powerful lineup of smart, automated, and sustainability-driven textile technologies at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025, taking place from October 28–31 in Singapore. The Swedish exhibitors will emphasise sensor-based automation, resource savings, and digital integration—all crucial to addressing today’s challenges in textile manufacturing.

“The push for automation, AI-driven production and digitalisation continues to accelerate as manufacturers seek to improve efficiency and reduce dependency on repetitive tasks for operators,” explains Therese Premler-Andersson, Secretary General of TMAS. “Advanced automation enables predictive maintenance and real-time quality monitoring in fully integrated production systems. Our members are helping customers reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and achieve sustainable growth.”

ACG Kinna Automatic – Complete Process, One Supplier
Under its hallmark slogan, ‘Complete Process – One Supplier’, ACG Kinna Automatic (Hall 6, stand D106) will present complete robotic lines for the home furnishings sector, covering everything from filling material handling and fabric feeding to sewing, digital quality control, and packaging.

While once viewed as futuristic, automated production lines have quickly become essential as manufacturers adapt to rising labour costs, skills shortages, and shifting trade regulations.

“Automation has become a must,” stresses Tomas Aspenskog, Marketing and Sales Manager at ACG Kinna. “Customers need traceability, flexibility, and simplified systems to reduce resource use and boost productivity. Our modular solutions allow manufacturers to adapt quickly, scale up over time, and manage operations through a single point of contact—saving time, money, and complexity.”

Hector – Industrial Sewing Innovation
Hector – Industrial Sewing InnovationAt the exhibition, ACG Kinna will also unveil Hector, a heavy-duty industrial sewing machine designed for circular and point stitching of filled textile components like outdoor cushions, garden pillows, and mattresses. Already in use by IKEA and JYSK, Hector is available in three versions with arm lengths of 60, 100, and 120 cm and features an adjustable sewing arm for thicker items—delivering both robustness and flexibility.

Eltex – Smarter Monitoring and Less Waste
Eltex (Hall 2, stand C203) is introducing the latest advancements in its EyETM tension monitoring system, now equipped with electromagnetic brakes and advanced sensors. These allow real-time automatic tension adjustments in sectors such as heat setting, tufting, warping, and winding, reducing reliance on manual corrections.

Eltex will also feature its ACT-R unit, which cuts selvedge yarn waste in rapier weaving machines while ensuring even tension across pre-winders. Notably, ACT-R is plug-and-play, requiring no communication with weaving machines—making it highly valuable for older mills still running legacy equipment.

Eltex – Smarter Monitoring and Less Waste

“The less waste you have, the more you save in materials, labour, runtime, and quality,” notes Michél Gamhov, Sales Engineer at Eltex. “Our sensor-based systems extend the life of older machines and enable mills to get consistent quality, even with recycled yarns. At Singapore, we’ll be engaging directly with customers to address their unique challenges.”

Svegea – Tubular Component Leaders
Svegea (Hall 6, stand D109), a TMAS member renowned across Asia, will showcase its collarette machines for high-speed production of cuffs, collars, and neck tapes. Demonstrations will include the EC 50 and EC 200 with E-Drive II models, paired with linked cutting systems.

Svegea – Tubular Component Leaders

“Durability, flexibility, and energy efficiency define our collarette machines,” says Managing Director Håkan Steene. “Asian customers increasingly demand automation for cost savings and consistent quality. Our solutions combine long life cycles with adaptable, user-friendly features to meet those expectations.”

Vandewiele Sweden AB – Precision Weaving Control

Svegea – Tubular Component Leaders
Vandewiele Sweden AB (Hall 2, stand D301e) continues to lead in weft yarn feeding and tension control units for weaving looms, both for OEMs and retrofits. At ITMA Asia 2025, the company will highlight its X4 yarn feeders, available in three variants:

  • With integrated tension display (TED)
  • With integrated active tension control (ATC)
  • With quick release, enabling easy transfer of tension settings between machines for faster restarts.

The S-Flex Tensioner, continuously monitored by internal sensors—even during power-off—adds further control reliability. Vandewiele has also expanded with IRO Gaugepart modules, applied in tufting looms for carpets, helping determine carpet feel and structure.

“Our size and agility allow us to deliver customised solutions that larger manufacturers cannot match,” says Division Manager Tobias Sternfeldt.

BW Converting – Spray Finishing Success
Finally, BW Converting (Hall 8, stand B201) will spotlight its TexCoat G4 spray finishing system, developed in Sweden and already a global success. In just two years, the company has installed 35 units across Asia, driven by growing demand for sustainable finishing technologies.

Svegea – Tubular Component Leaders

“TexCoat G4 was born from our offset printing expertise,” shares Rick Stanford, VP of Global Business Development for Textiles. “The technology saves significant resources compared to conventional finishing and customers are asking for related innovations. We’ll announce an entirely new technology ahead of the Singapore show.”

Sweden’s Role in Textile 4.0
With solutions spanning robotic pillow lines, industrial sewing, advanced monitoring, collarette machines, weaving control, and sustainable finishing, TMAS members are positioning Sweden as a driving force in Textile 4.0.

Visitors to ITMA Asia + CITME 2025 will find TMAS companies across multiple halls, each presenting automation, sustainability, and digitalisation tools designed to make textile production smarter, greener, and more competitive.
