A Chinese business delegation from leading garment and textile companies visited Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) on July 2. BGMEA, led by President SM Mannan (Kochi), and the Chinese delegation, represented by Xu Jinshan of Fujian Qunfeng Machinery Co., discussed trade and investment opportunities, particularly in the textile and apparel industries.
Both sides emphasized potentials for expanding business ventures, focusing on Bangladesh’s capabilities in producing high-value, man-made fibre-based garments and upgrading technological infrastructure. They also discussed the benefits of Chinese investment in high-end textile and backward linkage industries in Bangladesh. The meeting highlighted the mutual benefits of collaboration through knowledge exchange and technical skill enhancement to increase garment production capacity.
