Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has sought the cooperation of the IndustriALL Bangladesh Council (IBC) to maintain stable labor conditions in the garment sector amid ongoing challenges.
During a meeting on August 31st at the BGMEA Complex, leaders from both organizations, along with law enforcement officials, discussed the current difficulties facing the industry, including financial issues and disruptions to export-import activities. The BGMEA emphasized the need for collective cooperation to prevent labor unrest and road blockades over minor issues. The meeting concluded with a commitment from all parties to resolve disputes between factory owners and workers through dialogue to maintain law and order in the sector. BGMEA leaders also held a similar discussion with non-IBC labor federation leaders on the same day.
