EU export rose by 2%

EPB halts publishing export data for next three months to rectify earlier mismatches

Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data reveals that Bangladesh’s apparel exports to the EU rose by 2% year-on-year to $21.64 billion during July-May of FY 2023-24. However, RMG exports to the EU from January to April 2024 decreased by 9.85%.

Notable growth in shipments was seen to Spain (6.23%), France (1.02%), Netherlands (16.27%), Poland (17.28%), and Denmark (26.96%). Exports to Germany and Italy declined by 10.12% and 6.1% respectively.

In the US, exports fell by 3.43% to $7.46 billion, while exports to the UK rose by 12.34% and to Canada declined by 0.31%. Exports to non-traditional markets grew by 6.47%, with Japan, Australia, and South Korea seeing increases of 1.83%, 11.76%, and 14.34% respectively.
