Three new factories received LEED certification

Newly LEED certified three factories are,

  1. Echotex Limited – Polli Biddut, Chandura, Kaliakoir, Gazipur
  2. Elite Garments Industries Ltd – Bade Kalmeswar, Board Bazar, National University, Gazipur
  3. Euro Knit Spin Ltd – Dhanua, Sreepur, Gazipur

With these additions, Bangladesh now has 240 LEED-certified factories, including 98 Platinum and 128 Gold-certified facilities. The country also hosts 66 of the world’s top 100 LEED-certified garment factories, according to the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).

LEED certification serves as a globally recognized benchmark for environmentally sustainable construction, evaluating factors such as energy efficiency, water conservation, indoor air quality, and the use of sustainable materials.

Bangladesh RMG industry has increasingly embraced green manufacturing to enhance sustainability and competitiveness in global markets. This commitment to eco-friendly production has helped reduce carbon emissions and align with international sustainability standards.

RMG industry’s growing focus on green initiatives, stating that the rising number of sustainable factories boosts Bangladesh’s global reputation while ensuring long-term environmental and economic benefits.

As international buyers continue to prioritize sustainability in sourcing, Bangladesh’s leadership in green garment manufacturing is expected to further strengthen its position as a key player in the global apparel market.
