Lyocell gains momentum in Vietnam with first industry customer meet

The Lyocell Company (TLC) has hosted its first-ever Lyocell Customer Day in Hanoi, in collaboration with the Vietnam Cotton and Spinning Association (VCOSA), highlighting its commitment to Vietnam’s rapidly growing textile and garment sector.

The event brought together key Vietnamese industry stakeholders through knowledge-sharing sessions and networking, promoting Lyocell as a sustainable, high-performance cellulosic fibre suited to the country’s ongoing push toward automation, cleaner production, and supply-chain modernisation.

Vietnam, now among the world’s leading textile and apparel exporters, is strengthening competitiveness through higher domestic value addition and sustainability-driven upgrades. Against this backdrop, the growing global Lyocell market—forecast to expand at over 10% CAGR through 2032—offers timely opportunities for Vietnamese manufacturers seeking environmentally responsible materials.

TLC highlighted Lyocell’s closed-loop production process, strong tenacity, dyeability, and smoothness, positioning the fibre as an attractive option for meeting the rising sustainability and quality requirements of global brands. Industry leaders noted that increased adoption of fibres like Lyocell aligns well with Vietnam’s broader green growth and circular economy ambitions.

Both TLC and VCOSA expressed optimism that deeper collaboration and wider use of next-generation fibres would help Vietnam move further into high-value, sustainable textile exports, strengthening its long-term position in global supply chains.
