Intertextile Apparel returns this August with new focus on pet textiles and climate-adaptive innovation

The global textile market’s evolving demands are reflected in both the exhibition and its fringe events at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition, which runs from 11–13 March at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). The fair will host more than 3,000 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions across seven halls.

Alongside the exhibition, a series of fringe programs—including the Intertextile Directions Trend Forum, seminars, panel discussions, and special display areas—will highlight key industry trends. These events reflect the four central themes shaping the show floor: fashion forward, performance textiles, sustainability, and textile future.

Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said the organizers aim to strengthen business connections between exhibitors and buyers through targeted initiatives. New features include the Pet Boutique display area and expanded platforms such as the Econogy Hub and Functional Lab, which integrate seminars and product showcases.

This year’s edition welcomes new exhibiting countries including Austria, Denmark, Indonesia, Lithuania, and Norway. The International Hall (Hall 5.1) will host most overseas exhibitors across seven country and regional pavilions and several themed zones, including Econogy Hub, Essential Suits & Shirts, Functional Lab, Premium Wool Zone, SalonEurope, and Verve for Design.

Other specialized sections such as Accessories Vision and Beyond Denim will also feature a strong international presence. Together, the exhibition zones and accompanying events aim to support industry collaboration and innovation while responding to the evolving global textile market.
