Bangladesh’s per capita income reaches $2,769 in FY25

Bangladesh’s per capita income stood at $2,769 in the fiscal year 2024–25, according to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.
The figure was disclosed by Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury in parliament while responding to a query during the ongoing session.
The minister said the government is implementing a series of measures to further raise income levels, including boosting employment, increasing investment and production, expanding exports, and strengthening remittance inflows.
He emphasized that initiatives are being taken across multiple sectors such as industrialization, small and medium enterprises, agriculture, and skill development to enhance income opportunities and reduce unemployment.
The government is also focusing on improving the investment climate, supporting entrepreneurs, and diversifying export markets to sustain economic growth.
Chowdhury added that these efforts are aligned with the country’s long-term goal of achieving a $1 trillion economy by 2034, while ensuring the purchasing power of citizens is protected.
