BGMEA continues candidate introduction sessions ahead of 2025–2027 elections

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) carried forward its third consecutive day of candidate introduction sessions on Monday as part of preparations for the upcoming 2025–2027 board elections.
Held at the BGMEA Complex auditorium in Uttara, the event was part of an ongoing initiative by the BGMEA Election Board to present election candidates to the voting members. On this day, Abul Kalam, Managing Director of Chaity Group and Panel Leader of the Sammilito Parishad, formally presented his panel’s election manifesto to voters from the Dhaka region. During the session, candidates bearing ballot numbers 36 to 70 from the Sammilito Parishad were introduced to the audience, highlighting their vision for the future of Bangladesh’s RMG sector.
The session was chaired by Mohammad Iqbal, Chairman of the BGMEA Election Board and former Chairman of Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC). Esteemed industry figures including former BGMEA Presidents Kazi Moniruzzaman, Kutubuddin Ahmed, and S.M. Fazlul Hoque, as well as BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem and other board members, were in attendance.
Faruque Hassan, former BGMEA President and Chief Election Coordinator for the Sammilito Parishad, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the panel’s commitment to transparency, innovation, and inclusive leadership. In his remarks, Mohammad Iqbal thanked all the candidates for their participation and urged stakeholders to maintain a cooperative spirit to ensure a free, fair, and transparent electoral process.
