The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) in Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), in collaboration with the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Hong Kong, will organise the Bangladesh Apparel Roadshow on October 28 at the Island Shangri-La in Hong Kong.
The event aims to showcase Bangladesh’s evolving apparel manufacturing capabilities, focusing on product diversification, technical apparel, innovation and sustainable manufacturing.
As Bangladesh seeks to strengthen its position in global apparel supply chains, the roadshow will bring together international buyers, sourcing partners and industry stakeholders to explore opportunities for trade, investment and deeper collaboration amid changing global sourcing strategies.
The programme will feature presentations on Bangladesh’s apparel sector, discussions on the global retail outlook and emerging sourcing trends, a panel discussion, and an apparel showcase highlighting innovation and technical apparel.
Senior HSBC Hong Kong representatives, including Oliver T. Jones, Head of Global Network Banking, Hong Kong, will participate in the discussions. The event will also provide a platform for international buyers and industry stakeholders to exchange views on emerging market opportunities and the changing requirements of global apparel supply chains.
BGMEA, the apex trade body representing Bangladesh’s apparel manufacturers and exporters, will contribute industry expertise and represent the interests of the sector. The initiative highlights the importance of strengthening international engagement to support Bangladesh’s apparel diversification, competitiveness and long-term growth.
Md. Mahbub ur Rahman, CEO of HSBC Bangladesh, and Mahmud Hasan Khan, President of BGMEA, will co-host the event.
