Georg Stausberg appointed Rieter Group CEO, effective immediately

Georg Stausberg, chief executive of Barmag, has been appointed CEO of the Rieter Group with effect from November 4, 2026, following the withdrawal of designated CEO Daniel Lippuner over disagreements concerning his compensation package.
Rieter Holding Ltd. said its Board of Directors and Lippuner had failed to reach agreement after he raised additional demands, particularly regarding his bonus. As a result, he will not assume the position.
Stausberg brings more than 30 years of experience in the international textile machinery industry and has held various leadership positions at Barmag. Under his leadership as CEO, Barmag strengthened its position as the world’s leading supplier in the man-made fibre sector.
Following Rieter’s acquisition of Barmag in February 2026, Stausberg joined the Rieter Group’s Executive Committee. The company highlighted his extensive industry expertise and international network as key strengths for leading the group.
