Fake branded clothes seized: Counterfeit apparel ring busted in Bengaluru

In a major crackdown on counterfeit fashion goods, Bengaluru Rural Police raided unauthorized garment manufacturing units in Bylakonenahalli and Nelamangala, seizing fake apparel worth Rs. 30 lakh (approx. US $35,000). The units were found producing counterfeit versions of international high-end and fast-fashion brands, including Ralph Lauren, Polo, Nike, Puma, and Levi’s.
The late-night operation exposed large-scale illicit production of jeans and other apparel designed to mimic leading global labels. Police confirmed that the counterfeit goods were being stored in a warehouse operating under an unregistered name, “AA Fashions.”
An officer involved in the raid stated that the manufacturing units were operating without any legal license and were clearly intended to deceive consumers by selling fake items as original branded products. “This operation not only infringes copyright laws but also threatens brand integrity and consumer trust,” the officer added.
A case has been filed under the Copyright Act, and investigators suspect a wider supply chain network behind the operation. Authorities are currently working to identify other parties involved.
Consumers have been advised to remain vigilant and purchase apparel only from authorized retailers or official brand outlets to avoid falling victim to counterfeit products.
