Alibaba to empower Bangladeshi SMEs at 24th Textech Bangladesh 2025 Expo

Alibaba.com, one of the world’s leading B2B e-commerce platforms, has announced its participation in the 24th Textech Bangladesh 2025 International Expo, taking place September 10–13 at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Dhaka. The company will showcase its services at Hall-B, Stall No. BT17E and BT17F.

As part of its mission to strengthen Bangladesh’s export competitiveness, Alibaba.com will engage directly with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from the textile, jute, and handicraft sectors. The company aims to prepare these businesses for global trade, especially ahead of the Western holiday season — a period that drives peak international demand.

Founded in 1999, Alibaba.com connects millions of businesses worldwide and provides a full suite of digital trade solutions, including AI-powered product sourcing, supplier verification, secure online payments, logistics, and after-sales support.

“Bangladeshi SMEs have enormous potential in the global textile and handicraft markets,” said Foncel Lan, Head of Alibaba.com Global Potential Countries. “Through Textech, we want to bridge local sellers with international buyers and equip them with the knowledge and digital tools needed to grow beyond borders.”

Textech Bangladesh International Expo, now in its 24th edition, is the country’s largest and longest-running exhibition for yarn, fabric, trims, accessories, and textile innovations. Over the past two decades, it has evolved into a key hub for sourcing, networking, and investment in the RMG and allied industries.

At this year’s event, Alibaba.com will highlight global e-commerce trends, AI-driven product optimization, and digital marketing strategies to help Bangladeshi SMEs scale efficiently. The platform’s representatives will also provide guidance on how local exporters can improve visibility to international buyers and meet global compliance standards.

Industry leaders view Alibaba’s participation as a timely boost, as Bangladesh continues its push to diversify exports beyond ready-made garments and strengthen SME competitiveness in global markets.
