Elecetricity reaching Bangladesh from Nepal through Indian power grid

Nepal has begun supplying electricity to Bangladesh through the Indian power grid, marking a historic first in trilateral energy cooperation between the three nations.

The milestone was inaugurated by Md Fouzul Kabir Khan, Adviser to Bangladesh’s Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources; Manohar Lal Khattar, Haryana Chief Minister and India’s Minister for Power and Housing; and Dipak Khadka, Nepal’s Minister of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation.

This groundbreaking initiative enhances sub-regional energy connectivity and establishes a new standard for collaboration in South Asia’s power sector. Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, emphasized the significance of this achievement in fostering regional energy integration.
