According to the minister, Bangladesh exported goods worth $1.76 billion to India while importing $9.62 billion, resulting in the significant trade gap.
He also noted that Bangladesh faces trade deficits with Afghanistan, Bhutan, and Pakistan, while maintaining trade surpluses with Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Maldives.
In detailed figures, Bangladesh’s trade deficit stood at $681 million with Pakistan and smaller gaps with Afghanistan and Bhutan. Conversely, exports to Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives exceeded imports, reflecting positive trade balances.
