Two more Bangladeshi RMG factories received prestigious LEED certification

Evitex Apparels Limited in Gazipur and Aswad Composite Mills in Ashulia, Savar, have been awarded the Gold-level LEED Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
In a continued demonstration of Bangladesh’s leadership in sustainable manufacturing, two more ready-made garment (RMG) factories have received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
The newly certified factories are Evitex Apparels Limited, located in Gazipur, and Aswad Composite Mills, based in Ashulia, Savar. Both facilities were awarded the LEED Gold Certification, recognizing their excellence in environmental performance, energy efficiency, and adherence to green building standards.
Industry leaders have hailed this achievement as further proof of the RMG sector’s commitment to environmentally responsible production. According to sources, the certifications were granted based on the factories’ compliance with a wide range of sustainability criteria, including water efficiency, energy use, waste management, and indoor environmental quality.
With this recognition, Bangladesh now has 250 LEED-certified garment factories, including 105 rated Platinum and 131 rated Gold—cementing its position as a global leader in green garment production.
Notably, Bangladesh is home to 9 of the world’s top 10 and 68 of the top 100 highest-rated LEED-certified RMG factories, highlighting its growing influence in sustainable industrial practices on the global stage.
