A total of 95 candidates have submitted nominations to contest 35 director positions in the upcoming BGMEA biennial elections for the 2025–2027 tenure. Two main panels, Sammilita Parishad and Forum, submitted their nominations on Saturday at the BGMEA Complex in Uttara.
Sammilita Parishad submitted 44 nominations (33 from Dhaka for 26 posts, 10 from Chattogram for 9 posts). Forum submitted 46 nominations (34 from Dhaka, 12 from Chattogram). Additionally, six independent candidates submitted nominations earlier.

Sammilita Parishad: Led by Md Abul Kalam (Chaity Group).
Forum: Led by Mahmud Hasan Khan (Babu) (Rising Fashions).

Withdrawal Deadline: 6 May
Final Candidate List: 8 May
Election Day: 28 May (in Dhaka and Chattogram)
Remarks:
BGMEA administrator and the Election Board Chairman stressed ensuring a smooth, fair, and transparent election.The election board is working with the support of all stakeholders to complete the process efficiently.
