Lenzing appoints Georg Kasperkovitz as COO to boost operational excellence

Lenzing AG has announced the appointment of Georg Kasperkovitz as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and a new member of its Managing Board, effective June 1, 2025. Kasperkovitz brings over 15 years of international leadership experience across Europe, North America, and Asia—key markets for Lenzing. His previous roles include Business Unit CEO at Mondi PLC, CEO of Rail Cargo Austria AG, and partner at McKinsey.
In his new role, Kasperkovitz will oversee Lenzing’s global fiber production facilities and spearhead the company’s performance improvement program, focusing on cost efficiency and operational transformation. He will also manage the Lenzing production site in Upper Austria. Chairman Patrick Lackenbucher highlighted the importance of strengthening the board amid ongoing macroeconomic pressures and rising energy costs, stating that profitability and resilience are crucial for long-term competitiveness. CEO Rohit Aggarwal echoed this sentiment, noting that Kasperkovitz’s expertise will help enhance the company’s agility and global leadership in sustainable cellulose fibers.
