Bangladeshi-American Md. Liton Ahmed wins outstanding leader award at Oxford summit

Bangladeshi-American business leader Md. Liton Ahmed has received the “Outstanding Leader Award in Leadership” at the 14th World Leaders Summit 2025, held at the University of Oxford’s Keble College, O’Reilly Theatre.
The summit, organized by Global Empire Events Ltd., UK, gathered over 200 delegates from more than 30 countries to discuss entrepreneurship, sustainability, innovation, education, inclusive leadership, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The award was presented by Councillor Louise Upton, Lord Mayor of Oxford, who also delivered the keynote address on Oxford’s role as a global model in sustainability and innovation.
Mr. Ahmed, President & CEO of the U.S. Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (USBCCI) and Director of USBD Software & Technology Ltd., has been recognized for his work in boosting U.S.-Bangladesh trade, promoting entrepreneurship, and leading digital transformation. He is also the founder of the Made in Bangladesh Expo™, a global platform for showcasing Bangladeshi innovation.
In his acceptance speech, Ahmed said the honor reflected the “dedication and resilience” of his community and partners, adding that he was humbled to be recognized at Oxford, “a historic center of knowledge and progress.” With this accolade, Ahmed joins a distinguished group of global leaders acknowledged for contributions to business, education, and sustainable development.
