The inauguration of the 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2026 has been postponed and will now open on Saturday instead of January 1, following the government’s declaration of three days of state mourning for the passing of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) said the decision was taken as a mark of respect, while confirming that all preparations are being finalised at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal. EPB Chief Executive Mohammad Hasan Arif said the fair will welcome visitors on the revised date.

In a message marking the 30th edition, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus highlighted the fair’s role in promoting exports, showcasing domestic products, encouraging product diversification and attracting foreign investment, expressing optimism that the event will be a vibrant and buyer-friendly platform.
