ICAC to convene 83rd plenary meeting in Bremen ahead of International Cotton Conference 2026

“Uniting the Cotton and Textiles Value Chain for a Sustainable Future,”

International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) will hold its 83rd Plenary Meeting on March 23-24, 2026, at Bremen’s Parliament House, located near the historic Bremen Cotton Exchange. The meeting precedes the 38th International Cotton Conference Bremen, scheduled for March 25-27, 2026.

Under the theme “Uniting the Cotton and Textiles Value Chain for a Sustainable Future,” the Plenary will focus on advancing sustainability, innovation, and economic prosperity across the global cotton textile value chain—from seed to retail. Sessions will cover global market trends, policy development, textile infrastructure and investment, and technological advancements such as automated pest and disease detection systems.

Eric Trachtenberg, Executive Director of ICAC, highlighted the historic collaboration with the Bremen Cotton Exchange, noting that the event will bring together high-level government delegates and industry experts for a comprehensive view of the cotton and textile sector.

Fritz Grobien, President of the Bremen Cotton Exchange, said the partnership underscores Bremen’s central role in the global cotton industry and praised the Plenary as a valuable contributor to the conference program.

The International Cotton Conference Bremen is recognized for its focus on cotton cultivation, quality assessment, textile processing, innovative cotton products, and the interconnected textile value chain. The joint week of ICAC Plenary and the conference promises a unique platform for governments, industry, and research communities to shape the future of the global cotton and textile industry.
