Nike names new EMEA leadership as Carl Grebert retires

Nike, Inc. has announced key leadership changes across its geography management team, with a major transition in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
The company confirmed that Carl Grebert, a long-serving executive and Vice President/General Manager of EMEA, will retire after nearly 30 years at Nike. Grebert played a pivotal role in shaping Nike’s global and regional strategies across multiple markets and was widely credited for his behind-the-scenes leadership during key phases of the brand’s growth.
Following his retirement, César Garcia has been appointed Vice President and General Manager of Nike EMEA, effective February 2. Garcia brings nearly 25 years of experience at Nike, having started his career as an EKIN in Spain before holding senior leadership roles across Asia Pacific, Latin America, Global Running, and Western Europe.
Most recently, Garcia led efforts to integrate merchandising, sport priorities, and analytics to strengthen Nike’s connection with athletes and accelerate innovation. Known for his ability to navigate complex markets and build high-performing teams, he is expected to guide the EMEA business through Nike’s current “Win Now” strategy and sport-focused growth agenda.
Nike said further updates will be shared regarding leadership succession for Garcia’s previous role within the organization.
