Dhaka International Trade Fair concludes with about $36 million in sales

The month-long Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) concluded on 31st January with total domestic sales equivalent to nearly $36 million, reflecting resilient consumer demand despite inflationary pressures and a slowing economy, according to the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).

At the closing ceremony held at the Bangladesh–China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal, the EPB said domestic transactions amounted to Tk393 crore (around $35.7 million), marking a 3.42% increase compared to last year.

In addition to local sales, participating companies secured potential export orders worth $17.98 million, based on reports from 329 local and foreign exhibitors. Key sectors attracting export interest included diversified jute products, electrical and electronic goods, home appliances, cosmetics, hygiene products, processed food, handloom, home textiles, nakshi kantha and fabrics. Orders came from markets such as Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Indonesia.

The fair hosted 329 enterprises, including 11 foreign companies from six countries—India, Turkey, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Exhibits covered a wide range of products and services from cottage, micro, small, medium and large industries, including garments, leather goods, agro-processed items, furniture, electronics, handicrafts, plastics, toiletries, jewelry, real estate services and food.

At the closing event, 40 institutions were honored for excellence in pavilion design, product display, customer service, innovation, digital content and overall compliance, highlighting the fair’s role as Bangladesh’s premier trade and business showcase.
