Bangladesh and Türkiye have expressed strong interest in expanding bilateral trade, boosting investment, and enhancing overall economic cooperation following a high-level meeting in Dhaka.

Turkish Ambassador Ramis Sen met Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir at the Secretariat to explore new avenues of partnership between the two countries.

During the discussion, the minister highlighted the longstanding friendly relations and underscored opportunities for joint ventures in key sectors such as ready-made garments (RMG), textiles, agro-based industries, and light engineering. He also invited Turkish investors to explore Bangladesh’s leather and jute sectors, citing competitive production costs.

The ambassador praised Bangladesh’s strong economic growth and skilled workforce, noting these as attractive factors for investment. He also commended the growing popularity of eco-friendly jute products in the Turkish market and reaffirmed Türkiye’s interest in strengthening economic ties.
