Bangladesh and Türkiye explore stronger industrial and investment partnerships

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has called on Turkish businesses to increase investment and strengthen trade collaboration with Bangladesh as both countries seek to deepen bilateral economic and industrial cooperation.
The call came during a bilateral trade meeting held at the Gulshan Centre in Dhaka between DCCI leaders and a seven-member business delegation from Türkiye led by Burak Basegmezlar, vice president of the Turkish Electro Technology Exporters’ Association (TET).
According to DCCI, bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Türkiye reached approximately $1.05 billion during FY2024–25, while Turkish investment in Bangladesh currently stands at around $74.05 million across various sectors.
Taskeen Ahmed, president of DCCI, invited Turkish investors to explore joint venture and independent investment opportunities in sectors including ready-made garments, leather and footwear, jute products, agro-processing, pharmaceuticals, ICT services, software, light engineering, home textiles and consumer goods.
Burak Basegmezlar said Bangladesh’s growing demand for electronic equipment, home appliances, generators and industrial products presents strong opportunities for Turkish investors as the country’s manufacturing and consumer markets continue to expand.
Industry observers said the engagement reflects rising Turkish interest in Bangladesh’s industrial sector, particularly in electronics, electrical equipment and textile-related manufacturing, while also supporting Bangladesh’s broader efforts to attract diversified foreign investment beyond the apparel industry.
