In large industry, Runner Automobiles took first place, Zaber & Zubair Fabrics second and BSRM Steels third

In memory of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the government has an initiative to recognize the contribution of industrial entrepreneurs and institutions in the industrial sector, encourage more creation and creativity. For this, the Ministry of Industry is awarding the concerned institutions. In this context, according to the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Award 2022 policy, 12 industrial institutions in six categories have been selected for the ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Award, 2022’.

The first position in the large industry category for 2022 belongs to ‘Runner Automobiles’. ‘Zaber & Zubair Fabrics’ is in the second position and ‘BSRM Steels’ is in the third position.

Ministry of Industry has issued a notification in this regard on August 6. After the large category, ‘Nita Company’ is the first position as a medium industry. ‘Noman Terry Towel Mills Limited’ is in the second position. ‘Hazrat Amanat Shah Spinning Mills’ is the first small scale industry. Second position is ‘Basumati Distribution’ and third position is ‘Techno Media’.

‘Green Genesis Engineering’ is in first positioned company as a micro industry. ‘Samsunnahar Textile Mills’ stands first as a cottage industry. As a hi-tech industry, ‘Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited’ is in the first position and ‘Super Star Electrical Accessories’ is in the second position.

Earlier, in October 2021, a total of 23 industries were recognized in seven categories. A total of 21 industrial entrepreneurs/institutions were given the award every year (for the period 1st July-30th June), three in each of the seven categories of industries as per the classification of industrial establishments described in the existing National Industrial Policy. A total of 23 organizations were awarded as two organizations were selected jointly in two categories.

In the large industry category, ‘Square Pharmaceuticals Limited’ won the first prize, ‘Jaj Bhuyan Textile Mills’ second and ‘Aduri Apparels Limited’ and ‘Universal Jeans Limited’ jointly won the third prize. In the medium industry category, ‘Oco-Tex Limited’ and ‘Fortune Shoes Limited’ jointly won the first prize, ‘Rahim Afroz Renewable Energy Limited’ second and ‘Madhavadi Dyeing and Finishing Mills’ Limited won the third prize.

‘Aman Plastic Industries’ bagged the first prize, ‘S R Handicrafts’ second and ‘Alim Industries Limited’ took third prize in the small scale industry category. In micro industry category ‘Karukala’, ‘Trim Tex Bangladesh’, ‘Janata Engineering’ stood first, second and third respectively and in hi-tech industry category ‘Service Engine Limited’ won first, Super Star Electronics Limited second, Mir Telecom Limited third.

In Handicrafts category, ‘Classic Handmade Products BD’ bagged the first prize, Áyojon’ bagged the second prize and ‘Sonargaon Nakshi Kantha Mahila Unnoyon Shangsthan’ bagged the third prize. Also, ‘Comilla Arts and Crafts’ won the first prize, ‘Rangmela Nari Kalyan Shangsthan (RNKS)’ won the second prize and ‘Agraj’ took the third prize in the cottage industry category.
