14th International Garment Accessories and Packaging Expo (GAPEXPO) 2025 is set to take place in Dhaka from January 8 to 11 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB). This four-day event will showcase a wide range of garment accessories and packaging products, including buttons, hangers, zippers, machinery, yarn, and fabrics. Commerce Adviser to the interim government, Sk Bashir Uddin, is expected to inaugurate the expo.
According to Md Shahriar, president of the Bangladesh Garments Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA), around 250 exhibitors from 18 countries including India, Japan, Vietnam, China, South Korea, and Germany—will present their products, technologies, and machinery.
Bangladesh’s garment accessories sector currently boasts over 2,200 companies with investments totaling Tk 40,000 crore and employment for more than 7 lakh workers. The sector contributes $8 billion in deemed exports and $1.5 billion in direct exports to over 21 countries. Local manufacturers produce 60 types of garment accessories, meeting nearly the entire demand of the export-oriented garment industry, reducing reliance on imports from China, Hong Kong, and other nations. The expo will also feature seminars focusing on the garment accessories sector and sustainable fashion, providing insights into the industry’s future growth and sustainability.
