Corporate CEO’s projected that the economy will be better by next year in Bangladesh

A recent survey conducted by PwC Bangladesh reveals that a higher percentage of chief executive officers (CEOs) in Bangladesh anticipate an improvement in the economy over the next year compared to the previous year. Around 36 % of CEOs expect economic growth to increase, up from 31 % in the previous survey. Despite facing challenges such as high inflation, low foreign currency reserves, and increased energy prices, local CEOs are optimistic about the future. The survey, which included 52 local CEOs as part of a global survey across 105 countries and territories, highlights the dynamic business landscape in Bangladesh.

CEOs are focused on strategies for maintaining business relevance and operational efficiency amidst economic changes, technological advancements, and environmental concerns. The survey findings indicate that a majority of CEOs anticipate the need for significant business model changes over the next decade and are embracing new technologies to drive value.

Additionally, CEOs are prioritizing de-carbonization initiatives and recognize the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance efficiency and profitability. Arijit Chakraborti, director and office managing partner at PwC Bangladesh, emphasizes the importance of assessing organizations’ long-term relevance in the face of global megatrends. Mamun Rashid, country clients and markets leader at PwC Bangladesh, highlights the role of CEOs in navigating short-term challenges and capitalizing on long-term opportunities through technology adoption.

The survey underscores the need for transformative leadership, digital capabilities, continuous learning, and environmental considerations to drive sustained growth and competitiveness. Overall, the survey suggests a strategic shift towards resilience and relevance in a rapidly changing world, driven by digitalization and sustainable practices.
