Their collaboration focuses on developing efficient de-polymerization, purification, and re-polymerization technologies, integrated with scalable EPC business models. The goal is to commercialize an advanced PET recycling technology by the end of the decade, creating a global network of development partners.
Oerlikon Barmag contributes expertise in polymer processing, while Evonik provides innovative catalytic processes to improve recycling efficiency. The technology will integrate into existing PET production, enabling high recycled content from contaminated and mixed PET waste that would otherwise be discarded.
