LYCRA appoints Melissa Riggs as new CMO

The LYCRA Company has announced the promotion of Melissa Riggs to chief marketing officer (CMO), elevating her from her previous role as director of marketing for North America.
Riggs brings over 20 years of brand and marketing experience across the apparel, footwear, and consumer packaged goods industries. Her background includes leadership roles with the GORE-TEX brand and a decade-long tenure at Molson Coors Beverage Company, where she focused on partnership marketing and go-to-market strategies. She joined The LYCRA Company in 2022.
CEO Gary Smith praised Riggs’ appointment, stating, “Melissa’s promotion highlights our commitment to nurturing internal talent and underscores the strategic importance of marketing in delivering value to our customers.”
As CMO, Riggs will lead the development and execution of global brand and marketing strategies aligned with the company’s growth goals. “I’m honored to step into this role,” said Riggs. “It’s a privilege to lead a talented team and help amplify our ingredient brands, support our partners, and drive impact across the value chain.”
Riggs holds a master’s degree from Temple University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island. She will continue to be based at The LYCRA Company’s Wilmington, Delaware headquarters.
