An event organised by the Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka brought together over 200 experts from Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) sector to discuss how to accelerate the transition toward more sustainable, climate-smart practices.
Topics included reducing carbon footprint, introducing environmentally friendly technologies, and strengthening collaboration across the value chain to support sustainable production.
The Swedish embassy expressed readiness to help via technical partnership, knowledge exchange, and possibly investment, aiming to support Bangladesh RMG factories in meeting global expectations for green manufacturing.
The event emphasised that for Bangladesh’s garment industry to remain competitive—especially in export markets—it is essential to adopt green and climate-smart innovations, and build stronger cooperation among government, industry, and international partners.
