Azerbaijan Textile Association (ATA) joins global textile body ITMF to boost Azerbaijan’s industry integration

Azerbaijan Textile Association (ATA) has officially joined the International Textile Manufacturers Federation, marking a significant step in strengthening Azerbaijan’s position within the global textile value chain.
As a key representative of the country’s textile and apparel sector, ATA plays an important role in industry development, policy engagement, and international collaboration. Its membership in ITMF reflects a commitment to sustainable growth, innovation, and enhanced global competitiveness.
ITMF members collectively account for around 90% of global textile and apparel production, offering ATA access to a comprehensive international platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and industry insights.
Christian Schindler, Director General of ITMF, welcomed the development, noting that Azerbaijan’s textile sector holds strong growth potential and that ATA’s inclusion will support deeper collaboration and global integration. Through this membership, ATA and its member companies will gain access to industry reports, statistics, webinars, and global events, enabling them to expand partnerships, boost exports, and adopt international best practices.
Farida Akhundova, Executive Director of ATA, described the move as a milestone for the country’s textile industry, highlighting new opportunities for competitiveness, innovation, and long-term international cooperation.
The membership underscores ATA’s strategic vision to position Azerbaijan as a reliable and competitive player in the global textile market.
