RMG exporters wish to have new leaders in BGMEA

A group of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) members have demanded the resignation of the current president, SM Mannan Kochi, and his board of directors.
They accuse them of controversial actions during the recent student protests for quota reforms and alleged vote-rigging in the BGMEA elections. The members, led by former BGMEA director Inamul Haq Khan Bablu, criticized the board for failing to provide proper support to members during the unrest and for misrepresenting events surrounding a no-confidence memorandum submitted by members. They called for the board’s dissolution and the appointment of an interim, non-political board to oversee fair elections.
