EKOTEN textile expands innovation with KARL MAYER warp knitting technology

EKOTEN Textile, Europe’s top knitting manufacturer and Turkey’s leading circular knit exporter, has enhanced its technological capabilities by integrating KARL MAYER warp knitting technology. Based in İzmir, Turkey, the company operates 245 circular knitting machines, producing up to 40 tons of fabric daily for high-end fashion, sportswear, work-wear, and outdoor apparel brands, including Decathlon, Lululemon, and Hugo Boss.
In December 2024, EKOTEN launched a 10,000 m² warp knitting division, powered by KARL MAYER tricot machines, with production starting in January 2025. This move allows EKOTEN to diversify its offerings, combining circular and warp-knitted fabrics to meet growing international demand, particularly for active-wear, which now represents 70% of its sales.
With support from KARL MAYER’s global infrastructure—including training, spare parts supply, and integration expertise— EKOTEN is poised to strengthen its leadership in functional and technical textiles. The company plans to debut its warp-knitted fabrics at major trade shows in 2025, including Première Vision in Paris and PERFORMANCE DAYS in Munich. By blending cutting-edge technology with innovation, EKOTEN aims to replicate its circular knitting success in the warp knitting sector and position itself as a market leader in both domains.
