EPA between Japan-Bangladesh will boost business

Commerce Adviser Sheih Bashir Uddin stated yesterday that an Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between Bangladesh and Japan would enhance bilateral trade and open new opportunities for Bangladesh. Speaking at a meeting with Japanese Ambassador Iwama Kiminori at the commerce ministry in Dhaka, he emphasized that Bangladesh’s growing economy would be well-positioned in international trade with the EPA in place.

Bashir Uddin noted that the relationship between Bangladesh and Japan is built on trust and transparency, which will be further strengthened as trade between the two countries increases. Ambassador Kiminori affirmed Bangladesh’s longstanding friendship with Japan and expressed confidence that both nations would benefit from expanded trade. The meeting comes as Bangladesh and Japan begin formal negotiations for the EPA.
