The US outperformed Brazil in cotton export this year so far

Cotton export from the United States has registered impressive growth in value and volume during the current year.
The shipment during the first ten months of 2022 already surpassed the export of the year 2021.
However, the export from Brazil may not touch the level of the previous year 2021, an analysis of the latest data shows that the US is outperformed in trade.
An analysis based on data from TexPro, cotton export from the US stood at $8.258 billion (3.131 billion kg) during January-October 2022. The country exported $5.685 billion (2.964 billion kg) in 2021.
The shipment from Brazil was $3.342 billion (1.627 billion kg) from January-November 2022. The country exported $3.405 billion (2.016 billion kg) in 2021.
Quarterly shipments showed seasonal fluctuations as usual. The export from the US was $2.024 billion (0.729 billion kg) in Q3, 2022, $3.200 billion (1.192 billion kg) in Q2, 2022, $2.700 billion (1.087 billion kg) in Q1, 2022, as per TexPro data.
