Business leaders and technology experts have called for wider adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain in banking, trade, logistics and port operations to improve efficiency, reduce business costs and enhance Bangladesh’s global competitiveness.
The call came during a seminar titled “AI and Blockchain: Transforming Business, Industry and Trade,” organized by the Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) at its office in Gulshan, Dhaka.
The seminar highlighted the transformative role of AI and blockchain across key sectors, including business, manufacturing, finance, trade and logistics, while exploring the opportunities, challenges and practical applications of these emerging technologies.
Welcoming the participants, BCCCI President Mohd Khorshed Alam said the seminar would help chamber members better understand technological advancements and encourage innovation, productivity and business competitiveness.
The keynote presentation was delivered by Khondkar Atique-E-Rabbani, FCA, who shared practical insights into the current and future applications of AI and blockchain in business and international trade.
During the interactive discussion, participants emphasized the responsible and ethical adoption of AI and exchanged views on its growing impact on banking, finance, logistics, employment and port operations. They also stressed that embracing digital technologies is essential to reducing the cost of doing business and strengthening Bangladesh’s trade competitiveness.
The event was attended by BCCCI Secretary General, members of the Board of Directors, representatives of the Overseas Chinese Association in Bangladesh (OCAIB), business leaders, media representatives and other distinguished guests.
The seminar concluded with BCCCI reaffirming its commitment to organizing more knowledge-sharing initiatives to promote technological innovation and deepen Bangladesh-China business and trade cooperation.
