Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed China’s readiness to enhance bilateral relations with Germany during a phone call with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Xi emphasized the growing strategic and global importance of China-Germany and China-EU ties amid a rapidly changing and turbulent international landscape.
He highlighted the need for both countries to respect each other’s core interests, maintain high-level exchanges, and consolidate political trust. Xi called for expanding cooperation not only in traditional sectors but also in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum technology, climate change, and green development.
Xi also urged Germany to create a fair, transparent, and supportive environment for Chinese enterprises, particularly by offering more policy support and investment facilitation to encourage two-way trade and economic collaboration.
